─── Common Questions

Before you

break ground

The questions we get asked most on the first call. If yours is not here, pick up the phone and ask it.

Pricing depends on tree height and proximity to structures, soil type, total earth moved, access for heavy machinery, and haul-off requirements. We provide transparent, on-site estimates before any work begins.

Permit rules vary by city and county across Skagit, Snohomish, and Whatcom County. Tree removals near critical slope areas, shoreline buffers, or public rights-of-way usually require local municipal permits, which we help coordinate.

Stump grinding shaves the stump down several inches below ground level, making it ideal for lawn restoration. Complete stump removal excavates the entire root system, which is necessary when preparing ground for building foundations, driveways, or utilities.

Yes. If a fallen tree damages a structure, garage, or driveway during a storm, we provide detailed site photos, written estimates, and line-item documentation to assist directly with your insurance claim.

We coordinate public utility locates through 811 prior to breaking ground and work with property owners to map private utilities like irrigation lines, private water pipes, or sub-panel power feeds before operating heavy machinery.

We provide full haul-off services. Trees can be chipped into mulch or hauled away, stumps are removed, and excavated dirt or concrete is transferred to certified disposal facilities to leave your site clean.

Yes. Our crew operates year-round across the Pacific Northwest. During wet months, we utilize specialized soil stabilization, erosion control measures, and protective equipment mats to navigate wet ground without damaging surrounding property.

Mat, Seth, and his crew were excellent communicators. I always knew everything that was happening during a project that had logistics challenges. The jobs consisted of: 1) Restoration of a 2500 foot mountain driveway. 2) Installed a 4500 square foot asphalt pad. 3) Removed a huge old maple Kudos also to Josh and crew at Black Lake Asphalt. The most efficient work crew (10 men), I’ve ever seen.

Baxter and crew are prompt, efficient, competent. We had a huge tree taken down. All the workers were speedy, cheerful, and cooperative. The price was reasonable, the clean-up was well done. We are delighted with the work, and recommend this company highly.

We called Baxter's for a quote to remove 25+ trees and grade the land. He came next day and gave us a quote same day. Matt was very professional and transparent which we appreciated (unlike other quotes we received). Matt has great communication skills and answered all questions we had! Matt and his team started the job the same week and showed up on time, every day as promised. The team were super skilled, professional, and respectful. I was truly impressed with how quick they worked with a high level of respect to the property (and safety!) The team fulfilled our agreed upon job in a timely manner and left the site looking clean! Matt was honest when we asked about additional add-on things and told us to 'wait and see' instead of jumping in and adding things we may not need (French Drain). If we have any other needs that Matt offers, we'll definitely be giving him a call and recommending Baxter to our friends and family! We're grateful for the services rendered and are so happy with the completed job! Don't hesitate to hire these guys!
