What Land Clearing Involves
From Overgrown to Ready to Build
Every property is different, so we set the scope with you when we walk the site. A land clearing job can include any of these:

Brush & Blackberries
Blackberry thickets, Scotch broom and undergrowth cleared from the area you want opened up.

Small Trees
Alder, young fir and other small trees taken down and cleared. Trees you want to keep get marked and left standing.

Stumps & Root Wads
Stumps and root wads pulled out of the ground so the area is ready for digging, grading or seeding.

Grading & Site Prep After
Once it’s clear, we shape the ground for drainage, rough in the driveway and prep a building pad. See our excavation and site prep page.
We clear brush and small trees with a forestry mulcher, which cuts down on hauling. For some jobs, burning in the fall or winter, after the burn ban lifts, is the more cost-effective choice, and we’ll plan whichever works best for you.

Common Questions
Land Clearing FAQ
The questions we get asked most on the first call. If yours is not here, call or text and ask.
How much does land clearing cost?
Jobs from $1,500. Your price depends on the size of the area, how thick the brush and trees are, how many stumps come out, slope and access, and what happens to the material. You get a written quote after we see the property.
Do you clear land in Roy and south Pierce County?
Yes. We clear land in Roy, Spanaway, Puyallup, Tacoma, Bonney Lake, Buckley, Graham and the rest of south Pierce County, plus Skagit, Whatcom and Snohomish counties, including Burlington.
Do you mulch the brush or burn it?
We clear brush and small trees with a forestry mulcher, which cuts down on hauling. For some jobs, burning in the fall or winter, after the burn ban lifts, is the more cost-effective choice, and we’ll plan whichever works best for you.
Do you remove stumps and root wads?
Yes. Stumps and root wads come out as part of the clearing, so the ground is ready for grading, a building pad or seeding.
Can you leave the trees I want to keep?
Yes. We walk the property with you before the job, mark the trees you want to keep, and clear around them.
Can you get the lot ready to build after it’s cleared?
Yes. After clearing we can grade the site, prep a building pad, rough in the driveway and handle drainage and side sewer work, using the equipment we bring to the job.
Do I need a permit to clear my land?
It depends on your property, your county and the project. If part of the site looks like it might need a permit, like work near a creek, wetland or steep slope, we’ll point it out and help you check with your county or city.
How soon can I get an estimate?
Estimates are usually within a couple of days. Call or text 360-899-8468 with the address and a few photos to get started.
